Brookside Stables is a family owned and operated business, started in 1997. Currently run by 3 generations: owner Ann Brown, Ann's daughter Melissa Hammond and Ann's dad Stanley Cross. Between the three, there is literally more than a lifetime of experience with horses. Behind the scenes, Ann's mom, Sylvia Cross, acts as cheerleader and family caretaker.  Ann's husband Bret is always a strong supporter and there to do the needed repairs. Shawn, Melissa's husband is another strong supporter. This passion for horses in the family has encouraged the stable's rapid growth from 3 horses to an average of 26 horses. Brookside is home to many different breeds of horses. They are all currently  being used in the lesson and camp programs. The stable also provides quality, safe riding and driving horses for sale.  
We are very sad to share we have lost Ann’s mom (9/23/25) and dad (9/11/24) RIP to both. Their spirits will always live on at Brookside forever.
